Resume Writing Tips and suggestion

Good day to everyone. The following post is about how to make your resume very professional and tips on Do’s & Don’ts in your Resume.

I am drafting this post with my own professional experience and the study on various management sites. This post will be helpful for all professional and my dear student friends.

Let’s start with Do’s and Don’ts in your resume.

Do’s:

  1. Your resume layout should fit in A4 sheet.
  2. Your resume should talk more about your professional exp/ studies (for freshers).
  3. Your resume should have date & place which will ensure your latest resume and your current place of preparation.
  4. Fit with some readable fonts (Arial recommended).
  5. Refer someone in the same industry (Eg: If you are in IT industry refer someone in the same industry instead of referring someone in chemical industry)
  6. Always project your details from latest to oldest as you can easily remember the latest one.

Don’ts:
  1. Lie on your resume.
  2. Draw any background colors for your resume as it will not look good when you take print outs.
  3. Change your font’s for heading and content.
  4. Place your photograph on your resume, incase asked paste the hard copy of your passport size photo.
  5. Underline the headings instead bold it.

Now you just have a look into the attachment which will give you the format of the resume. Just fill and enjoy. All the best.

Uninstalling app and taking screen shot in iPhone/iPod Touch

Dear Readers,

One of my friend has asked me today how to uninstall an app in your iPhone. While troubleshooting i have thought him how to take screen shot also. I thought it would be helpful for others too if i share the same.

There is nothing like big un-installation steps in iPhones as we do it in computers. Just keep your finger on any of the app and hold it for few seconds. Your applications will start dancing. Once the dance starts other than defaults apps such as calender, compass, youtube etc., you will get "x" mark in the apps that you have installed. Now click on "x" to remove that app from your iPhone. That's how we do uninstall or remove the app from your iPhone/iPod touch.

In case if your installation is struck up, you will not get the "x" mark in that particular application and the status will be "Waiting". Don't worry just switch off and switch it on then again give a dance to the app as said above the "x" will appear.

To take screen shot, just press home & sleep in a single shot your current iPhone screen shot is been taken and it will be available in your photo's.

Watermark in picasa

I believe couple of weeks before i was reading on web about adding water mark to pictures. I don't remember the software name exactly as i was not impressed by it's functionality.

I was thinking if Google has a software to import/export photo's using Picasa why it doesn't have any function to add watermark of it's own? With no doubt my research was done and finally i found the answer. It's YES, picasa has the function to perform this task by it's own. Let's see how.

We can easily add watermark to all photo's that we upload to web. Follow the simple steps.

1. Open Picasa and goto Tools --> Options
2. Click on "Web Albums" tab and look for "Watermarks"
3. Check the option "Add a watermark for all photo uploads" and enter the text that you want to appear on the text box then click on "OK".

Now from when on you upload any images to picasa web albums you will get the watermark to your photo's. This way you can own your rights to your photo's :). I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Meet you again.

Stop Chat Status in Buzz

Dear Readers,

I am sorry to say this, many of my buzz buddies does this mistake either knowingly or unknowingly which makes other followers in dis-comfortable state :(. I know you may wonder what was that? Mmmm nothing much but buzzing your gtalk/google chat status to buzz.

I am not saying you are doing intensionally but it's Google, which has made this option as default to all your buzz accounts. I am sure you might have seen the same in buzz and you might have tried to stopped it. If you really don't know how to do the same then this post is fully dedicated for those unknowns folks.

To avoid this from your buzz status all you need to do is to follow below 4 steps.
  1. Goto Settings
  2. Click on “Buzz” tab and look for “Your connected sites:” verbiage
  3. Now click on “View and Edit” link and you can see “Google Chat Status” in that window.
  4. Click on “Edit” and again click “Remove Site”.

This way your google chat status will not be buzzed anymore :). You should always understand one point, Buzz and Tweeters are to share your thoughts and feels not your fullstops and commas :) Keep buzzing buddies.

Please share this in your buzz if you are dis-comfortable with your followers.

Adding Watermark to a document using Microsoft Word 2010

Dear readers,

In every professional environment we have the concept of copyright and confidential. We prepare the document and share it with our clients alone which is highly confidential. We can say that it’s confidential /copy right to your own organization.

We cannot add a simple text which can say it’s confidential but how about adding a water mark in a document? It’s even simple and it can’t be edited by others.

To add the water mark in your work document follow the steps as mentioned below

  1. Click on “Page Layout” in the menu
  2. In the Page Backgroun option look for “Watermark” and we have some inbuild watermark in work. If that suits to you then we can add it. Else we can define our custom water mark by choosing “Custom Watermark”.
  3. In the custom window we have three options “No Watermark/Picture Watermark/Text Watermark”. It’s up to you to choose whatever you want.

HD video uploads in Picasa

All,

It’s Google againJ. Those who frequently read my pages should have known by now how love Google. I follow each and every new steps of Google as they are the one whom I am admiring every day.

Let’s see what’s new today. If you are introduced to internet for the first time I am sure that within a week you should have known 3 things
1. Google
2. Gmail
3. YouTube

If you know are familiar with Google then in day by day you will be learning everything which is in WWW. Point#3 is YouTube, Yes when we say video clips on internet the first site which smack everyone’s wits is YouTube. The #1 video uploading and sharing portal up to my knowledge. The best part of YouTube is allowing us to upload HD videos for free up to 2GB with 15 mins length. Now Google has announced that we will be able to upload HD videos in Picasa.

As you might be known about Picasa, the application by Google which allows you to upload and share photos + videos up to 1 GB of your account. Now they have introduced an option to Picasa users to upload HD videos which can be up to 720p. We need Picasa software to be installed in our machine and we cannot upload directly from Picasa web albums. It’s a known fact that HD videos occupies more space and a total of 1GB space for every Picasa account is really not enough.

If you want to upload it in Picasa with various accounts then it would be okay. Commit to memory that you cannot share the video alone to your friends instead your complete album will be sharedL. I hope Google will give some more room to us and sharing options comparable to YouTube.

I still say YouTube is the best for video uploads and sharing’s. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

Once the slide show is created then we can get the embedded code and put it in our blog/website. It's so easy.

Click here to start creating photo slide shows.

Record calls thru Google Voice#

As I have said in my earlier posts stating we have an option to record calls that we receive or dial from Google voice just by pressing button “4” in your dial pad.

Now Google has given you an option on screen just to click on the record button to press it. Test is going on. Soon we may have it in our screens. As we know it won’t take much time for Google to implement.

Shorten any lengthy URL

Dear All,

I am sure that everyone is aware of Google maps and Picasa web albums. I am saying these two Google products as an example here. So when you use this maps/photo apps the only thing you will hate is when you share your findings with your friends is nothing but the two/three lines of URLL.

You all hate as I hate it, because if we give too lengthy URL’s then no one likes to click on that thinking it may be spam or if the click doesn’t work then it’s hard time for our friends to copy paste/type it. So Google itself has an app to shorten these lengthy URL’s into small.

Click http://goo.gl/ to open the web app and give the lengthy URL then click on the “Shorten” button. It will give you the best result as Google always gives for us. Moving next/previous message after archival

Folks,

As I keep saying in most of my post like everyone has their own taste. I like the way to be very professional and process related but not everyone will be like that. We have people with different taste. It’s since long time Google didn’t think about swapping to next/previous message if we archive any message. This feature was available in yahoo from earlier days. When we delete any emails from yahoo account we can setup an option either to move to next message or to stay back in inbox.

Now it’s Google which has introduced this feature.  Google gives three options upon archiving any message.
ü  Go to next conversation
ü  Go to previous conversation
ü  Go back to inbox

It’s up to you to choose which option suits for you. I don’t believe any users will request for other than the above 3 optionsJ.

Happy mailing

Text Effect in Microsoft Word

Dear Readers,

Due to my health issues i am unable to post frequently in my blog. I am okay now and you can see some good hits from now on.

Today i am gonna to show you how can we have some text effects in Microsoft word 2007 or higher. Presenting and documenting text with different font styles will add some colors to your document but it should be readable. Creating attraction towards your document is more important than presenting with various styles of fonts.

We can add some shadows, reflections, fill colors inside or outside of our text without changing the font to make our document very professional or readable.

To add text effects please open word and type your text. Once the text is typed select the particular text where you want to create some effects. Follow the steps mentioned in the below figure to add your desired text effects.
