One of our blog reader Mr.Thomas has queried about a tool which is good to download , upload any YouTube videos to our desktop and stay signed in to comment on other videos as well. Thanks for your query Mr.Thomas.

I found a tool named "DeskTube" which fits for your requirement. This tool should be installed in your PC and it will allow you to download, upload and comment on any YouTube video. It's a freeware and you can use it for this requirement.

You can also give a search on any YouTube video. One quick observation on this tool is the download of video is of only one format which is .MOV. May be you can use converters if you are looking for some specific format.

Notification of video uploads in YouTube

One of our friend have queried to us on the issue about not receiving notification on new video uploads on subscribed YouTube user.

In general, once you subscribe to a particular user you should be able to view their new changes and uploads to their videos in YouTube. In case if you have subscribed but didn't get any notification if they upload any new video's then it sounds like you didn't check the notification option when you subscribe.

Let's see how :

1. If you know your friends user name then type the URL as shown here in your browser address bar. 

Eg: http://www.youtube.com/user/abbu4fun. Here abbu4fun is the YouTube user name.

2. Click on the "Subscribe"  button which will be near to user's name as shown below and make sure you check the box "Also email me for each new upload" and click on "Update" button.

That's it. You will get the notification of each new uploads of the user that you have subscribed.

How to send friend request in YouTube

The more you have friends the more you will be happy. Starting from the birth itself every living things started creating their friends. 

YouTube is one of the good video uploading site which offers to tag friends with different groups with your ID. Incase if your friends also have a YouTube account then with no time we can add them in to our friends list by sending a request.

Let's see how.

1. If you know your friends user name then type the URL as shown here in your browser address bar. 

Eg: http://www.youtube.com/user/abbu4fun. Here abbu4fun is the user name.

2. Once you get into your friends channel then you can see his/her customized screen and video's on the webpage. This is the channel that he/she has created for them. Just keep scrolling down where you can see him/her username as shown in the below figure.

3. Now click on the "Add as Friend" link to add him/her as your friend. That's it. Your friend request will be sent to your friend.

Your friend will be notified and he/she may add/reject your request upon their review.

YouTube increases video length from 10 mins to 15 mins

Dear Readers,

It's a happy news for us today from Google. It's not only for you it's 100% for me atleast. I am a frequent up-loader in YouTube. In-case If i goto any get together or to any birthday function i am a default photographer and i will convert into video finally into YouTube :). As i love that i will take that responsibility in all those functions.

Now it's not only the challenge for me but for all other users who upload their videos into YouTube. Yes the challenge is to fit the video for 10 mins of length. The moment you think of uploading any video into YouTube the first item that struck in our mind is about cropping the video into 10 mins of its length.

The happy news is from now the video length is increased from 10 mins to 15 mins. Wow!!! We always love you Google. It was been for many years that the video length was for 10 mins hence Google had a work around and the experiment was successfully resulted in increasing the length of video from 10 mins to 15 mins. We wish we will get more lengthy uploading in another short period of time :).

Please be advised that  if you’re trying to upload any video that was rejected in the past for being too long then you need to goto "My Videos" and delete that video before you attempt to upload that video. Happy Uploading!!!

Switching to HD while playing youtube full screen video

When Google take over YouTube it's a daily news of new features for their customers (for us). A new feature added recently allows us to play HD (High Definition) video's when we switch to full screen mode. This way we can enjoy the real fun in our video's.

Goto "My Accounts" and click on "Settings" then choose "Playback Setup" from the left panel.

Now Check "Always play HD when switching to fullscreen (when available)" Option to play HD video when we switch to full-screen.

Don't forget to click on "Save Changes" button to enjoy HD video's in full screen mode by default.

Creating Playlist in YouTube

Dear Readers,

Today We shall see how to create a play-list in YouTube.

1. Login to Youtube.

2. Click on Your account name and select My Videos.

3. Click on "New" Drop down menu and select "PlayList"

4. Enter the name of your Playlist in the input box that appear and click on "Create" button. Here in this example i created a playlist named "Illakiya's Birthday"

5. Enter the information as requested in the screen and click on "Save Changes"

6. Click on  "Uploaded videos" in the left panel and check the list of video's that you want to save as playlist.

 Once check the list of video's click on "Add To" button and select "Playlist"

7. Now select the Playlist for which you want to add the selected video's to. (Here i choose Illakiya's birthday to add both her video's)

8. Once you Click on "Add to Playlist" button as above the selected video's will be available in the playlist.

9. Incase if you want to edit the sequence/position of the playlist, Select respective Playlist from the left panel and click on the numbers of the playlist directly.. It will change to edit mode and re-arrange the #'s.

Creating and uploading Video's in YouTube

Thanks for your support to my blog and your hits + comments triggers me to give more information at your vision.

Today i am gonna show you how to create a video of your own and upload the same into YouTube. Video is an another way of expressing your feel visually. YouTube provides a great opportunity to share your video with your friends and family for free.

We use to take photo's and video's thru our camera/other device, once the photo's or videos are stored in your memory card we would be downloading to PC and hosting into web. Why don't we merge the video's and photo's into a kind of movie by adding our loved music into it? Let's watch out how.

Creating video's using movie maker.

Windows Movie maker comes free with Windows which would be easy for us to create a movies with your photo's or video's. I use some different video maker tool which is not free :)

Now let's start to see how to upload the video into YouTube .

1. Sign into Youtube.com with your gmail id.

2. Once you sign in you will be seeing an option at the top right corner as "My videos", please click on that.

3. You would be seeing a screen as below. Click on "New" and choose "Upload videos"

4. Now in the Upload Screen you have two options, either you can upload a video that's created by you or you can capture any new video thru your Webcam. Click on the "Upload Video" button now to upload the video which is already available.

Note: You can upload a video of size upto 2GB or it can be upto 10mins in length.

5. Choose your video and click on Ok to start uploading it. You should fill the options like "Title","Description","Tags","Category" and Privacy settings.

Privacy settings is the one which is more important. You have three options one as to share the video to entire world or we can share with particular youtube viewers or one who knows the link alone can view.

Upon filling these options click on "Save changes". You will be getting an message as "Changes pending: your video settings will be saved once your upload is completed." in the top of the screen.

6. As per your internet speed the video upload will take place. Now you can just sit back and relax. You tube will convert this video into .flv format and load. If your video has some copyright songs then you would be receiving an email to your account in less than 4 mins but if any action required from your end will be notified in that message. If the video is restricted as per the youtube policy then you wont be able to see it in web.

Share YouTube video in Orkut,Tweeter,Facebook automatically

Having Orkut/Tweeter/Facebook account is common now-a-days and even a 8th grade students have this accounts :). If you are introduced to internet the first thing most of us do is first create an email account (gmail is mostly used) and create one/more social network account.

We use to have 100's of friends in this social n/w and we use to share many of our personal feel and happenings with them. Sharing YouTube video is common and mostly used in social network. We shall see how to do it automatically from YouTube account to Facebook/Tweeter/Orkut.

1. Login to YouTube
2. Goto Accounts --> Settings --> Activity Settings
3. Now check the options under  "What activities do I share?" and  Click on "Connect Accounts" to either of the one listed under "Where do I share my activities?".
4. Carefully login to your social network and read the permission levels that they are about to share.

Youtube-Unlisted video

I love google in many ways as like you all love. Everyday google introduces  some new thing to us. Today we are gonna see a new feature that google has introduced in youtube.


Whenever i upload a new video in youtube we would be having two options one as "public" where anyone can view and another one as "Private" where some shared users can view. Now we are given a new feature ie., "Unlisted"


Unlisted-  it means that only people who know the link to the video can view it. The video will not appear in any of YouTube's public spaces, such as search results, your channel, or the Browse page, but the link can be shared with anyone.
